Film Festivals/Call for Entries

The first annual Black Lily: A Women in Film Festival is a new direction for the Black Lily brand, primarily known for music. Inspired by the recognition of the parallels between the music and film industries, both male dominated fields, in which women are still striving for the acknowledgement and recognition often taken for granted by their male counterparts, the Painted Bride Arts Center partnered with Black Lily.

This international festival seeks to highlight groundbreaking women directors, writers, designers, editors, and producers in film as well highlight works by men that illuminate the role women play in society. The Lily will take place May 4-6 at the Painted Bride Arts Center in Old City.

Submission Deadline: December 1, 2006
