Scene & Heard
We might bear a slight resmblance to a broken
record about this, but we really want to encourage
you again to
visit PIFVA's Philadelphia Film
Calendar.
There's so much going on that it's impossible to
squeeze in one newsletter (or e-mail...or repertory
film listing...or promotional postcard...or....), and the
Film Calendar is one of the best ways to see what's
going
on...and what you're going to see.
This month we're particularly excited about Julian
Berrian's free screening of The Forgotten
Summer, the release of the Film Noir, Vol. 3
CD, the Philadelphia
International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (Ooh,
they're screening The Bad Seed),
the ReelBlack Soul Food Friday Summer Movie
Series
screening of a favorite Rosalind Cash film, Melinda, the
Greater Philadelphia Film Office's Ethics in
Filmmaking seminar and
the Big Sheet screening of The Muppet
Show.
If it's film, video or media-related and based in the
Greater Philadelphia area, it's here on our calendar.
(And e-mail us at contactus@pifva.o
rg if it's not!)

PIFVA News and Notes
Next Friday it pays to be a member of PIFVA
at Scribe Video Center's monthly
Storyville event. The 7pm screening
on Friday July 14th features the Media That Matters Film
Festival, and PIFVA members can get a 2-for-1
ticket price, a nice discount on Storyville's already
reasonable $5 admission. If you go, be sure to say
hello to PIFVA Coordinator Yvonne Jones!
PIFVAssist is now online!
Of course, PIFVA members are always welcome to
contact the PIFVA office via phone or e-mail with
production and other media-related questions. But
we've moved -- and are still in the process of
adding -- some of the most commonly asked questions
and answers to PIFVAssist forums on Pifva.org.
Consider it a "soft launch" as PIFVA, film and
videomaking friends of PIFVA, and members like you
help make it one of the first places you turn to for
media
production-related questions and answers.
Did you miss the last few E-Bulletins? No
problem.
Now you can find them online at the PIFVA.org Web site,
so bookmark us just in case. (Astute readers will
note there was no June 30th E-Bulletin. PIFVA was
away celebrating the nation's independence.)
Don't forget to revisit the June 23rd, 2006 E-
Bulletin
to find out how your PIFVA membership can help you
get in shape at a discount.
