Biography:

Anita Reher is an international documentary consultant with extensive experience in connecting filmmakers to the documentary community. Anita, a native Dane, relocated to Philadelphia in early 2011 where she among other things has been creating an international marketing and distribution strategy for a feature-length documentary; consulting for the first Chinese documentary association, the Guangzhou Documentary Association; as well as developing a graduate-level course in Global Film Distribution Networks for Arcadia University. Anita was co-founder of the European Documentary Network (EDN) in 1996. EDN is an international association of documentary filmmakers, producers, distributors, broadcasters, festivals and other film professionals, which provides services to its more than 1300 members. The association’s headquarters are in Copenhagen, Denmark. www.edn.dk During her 14 years at EDN Anita planned, coordinated, and had financial responsibility for over 50 international workshops on pitching, storytelling, distribution, and promotion in collaboration with local partners in the countries in which the workshops were held. Many of these workshops lead to the creation of national organizations to serve documentary filmmakers in their own countries.
