Biography:
Shannon Kane-Meddock is a Philadelphia-based filmmaker, producing documentaries and commissioned videos. She was associate producer of Attie & Goldwater Productions' MAGGIE GROWLS, which launched PBS’ Independent Lens series; ROSITA, broadcast on HBO Latin America; and MRS. GOUNDO'S DAUGHTER, an ITVS production with major funding from the CPB and the Sundance Documentary Fund, nationally broadcast on PBS World in February 2011. Kane-Meddock produced and directed, with Mike Attie and Andrew Schwalm, the award-winning short documentary HOOKED: Philly's Urban Anglers, broadcast on WYBE public television. She is currently working with Attie & Goldwater on BaddDDD Sonia Sanchez, a documentary on the life and work of the world-renowned African-American poet, playwright and educator. Previously, Kane-Meddock created a national program of events and screenings and produced special events for BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) in London. She served on First Person Arts' Artist Advisory Committee from 2007-2009, and has been a board member of the Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association since 2009.
